FFX Yamaha set for MCE British superbike season finale at Brands Hatch

The FFX Yamaha team are set for the final round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship season at Brands Hatch this weekend as they prepare to battle for their best results of the year with Filip Backlund and the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship title with Andy Reid.
Backlund is determined to add to his points tally in the three races on the Grand Prix circuit and beat his best result of the season of a ninth place at Assen. In the Pirelli National Superstock 600 class Andy Reid is hunting the title for FFX Yamaha as the Championship fight goes down to the wire in the final race of the season. Reid is just four points adrift of the standings leader and is ready to come out fighting for the win at Brands Hatch.

Backlund said: “Normally I feel a little bit of relief to reach the end of the season because you can then relax mentally, but that’s not the case this year. It feels like we have just started the season and I just want more and more races.
“This chance that FFX Yamaha has given me through these last four rounds is something that I’m very grateful for. All this experience and knowledge is something that I can carry with me in to the winter break and what will make me stronger as a racer.”
Reid said: “I am feeling confident about this weekend and I believe there are a lot of forces working with me at Brands Hatch. Everything happens for a reason and I feel like what happened at Silverstone was a second chance for me. I have the lap record at Brands Hatch so we just need to keep on working hard and then push on for those wins on Sunday.”
